Spain and the European region is starting to show signs of progress with unemployment lowering to record numbers compared to previous years, even prior to the pandemic. Germany is also on their 10th month of consistently lowering the number of unemployed people.

The number of unemployed men and women registered in the Public Employment Services Offices, at the end of the February, has decreased by 11,394 people (-0.36%) in relation with the previous month. It is the biggest drop in a month of February since the year 2015.

Regarding the situation prior to the pandemic, the largest percentage increases in permanent contracts are found in the Agriculture and Construction sectors. By sectors, the percentage of indefinite contracts registered in February is especially relevant in Construction and Services.
The drop of 94,311 contracts for Labor or Service stands out compared to February 2021 (-19.5%).
In accumulated magnitudes, in January and February 2022. 555,513 contracts were made for an indefinite period. It represents an increase of 298,891 (116.47%) over the same period in 2021.
