Getting started
MarketNerd is a company developing cTrader trading bots and optimizing trading portfolios. You subscribe to a bundle, pick which strategies fill your slots, and connect your cTrader account — our bots then trade your account automatically against the strategy logic you chose.
Yes. You'll need a live or demo cTrader account at any cTrader-supporting broker. Once you have one, you'll paste your @username (cTID) into MarketNerd when filling a slot — that's how our bots authorise themselves to trade your account.
- Pick a bundle on the Plans page (Starter, Premium, or VIP).
- Complete checkout.
- From My Strategies, fill each slot by picking a strategy and entering your cTrader @username.
- The dashboard starts showing trades as soon as your bot opens its first position.
Not directly — strategies only become active once a slot is filled inside a paid bundle. You can review every strategy's historical performance, key metrics, and recent trades on its Market detail page before committing.
Bundles & billing
All three bundles work identically — the only difference is how many strategy slots you get to run concurrently. Starter is 5 slots at $100/mo, Premium is 10 slots at $200/mo, VIP is 20 slots at $400/mo. Pick based on how many strategies you want running in parallel.
Yes — open My subscription and pick a new tier. Market Nerd handles the proration: you pay the difference for the remainder of the billing cycle, and your new slot count is available immediately.
On the My subscription page, click Cancel subscription. You can choose end-of-billing-period (default — keeps trading until you've used what you paid for) or immediate (slots revoked the same day). No retention questions, no fees.
On the same day each month as your initial purchase. You'll receive an invoice 3 days before the charge attempt, and your saved card is charged automatically. You can change payment method any time from Billing → Change payment method.
Credit and debit cards via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). Cards are stored securely by Stripe — we never see the number. You can add or remove cards from Billing → Payment methods.
Strategies & slots
A slot is a single running strategy. A 5-slot bundle lets you run 5 strategies at the same time against your cTrader account. Each slot has its own activation status — you can pause, swap, or clear a slot independently of the others.
Yes, any time, at no extra cost. From My Strategies, click Clear on the slot you want to replace, then fill it with the new strategy. The previous strategy stops trading immediately and the new one becomes active as soon as cLicense confirms activation (usually under 5 seconds).
A strategy only opens positions when its entry conditions are met — that can take hours or days depending on volatility. Other things to check:
- The slot status is Active (not Pending or Failed)
- Your cTrader account is funded and the bot is allowed to trade
- Your cTrader account is open during the strategy's trading hours
You can also check Log Files in the cTrader user interface. If nothing's happened after 72 hours, open a support ticket and we'll diagnose.
No. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Every strategy on MarketNerd can lose money, and you're responsible for your own trading account. Historical performance, drawdown, and Calmar ratio are published per strategy so you can size your risk accordingly.
cTrader setup
Sign in to cTrader Web or your cTrader desktop app, click your profile in the top-right — your cTID (the part starting with @) is shown right there. Copy it (with or without the @) and paste it into MarketNerd when filling a slot.
Any broker that supports cTrader works. We list our recommended partners on the Brokers page — IC Markets, FP Markets, FxPro, BlackBull Markets and Axiory are all tested and offer competitive spreads for algo traders.
Usually no. Up to 3 bots run together on cTrader cloud infrastructure once activated, so your computer can be off, your laptop can be closed, your phone can be dead — the strategies keep trading 24/7 (within market hours). You only need to come back to MarketNerd to monitor PnL or swap strategies. If you want to activate more than 3 bots at the same time on one cTrader interface, you'll need to activate them locally on your PC and leave it on, or rent a VPS to work 24/7 for you.
Account & security
From the login page, click Forgot password. We'll email you a reset link valid for 60 minutes.
Yes. Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes (never plaintext), card data lives in Stripe's PCI-compliant vault (we never see it), and the whole site runs over HTTPS. Your cTrader login is never entered anywhere on MarketNerd — we only need your public @username.
